Orthodontic Postgraduate Exchange Program between the Schools of Dentistry at the University of Geneva and the University of Southern California
The Olsburgh Smile Foundation sponsors each year an Orthodontic postgraduate from the University of Geneva to participate in an informal exchange program with the Herman Ostrow School of Dentistry, University of Southern California (‘USC’), in Los Angeles.
The selected postgraduate can experience one week of didactic and clinical immersion, enabled by Prof. Glenn T. Sameshima, DDS, PhD, Chairman, Program Director and Clinic Director of the graduate program in orthodontics at USC and an honorary member on the Foundation Board. The exchange program aims to offer different styles of education and ways of practice, as well as enhancing the ability to connect, communicate and collaborate with others. It will also contribute to creating a long-lasting network.

My week at USC, under the guidance of Prof. Sameshima, allowed me to observe different clinical approaches and educational styles that I will carry into my own practice. Just as valuable was connecting with the USC postgraduates, who welcomed me with great generosity and openness; sharing their daily clinical life and exchanging perspectives reminded me how much we grow when we learn from one another. Although I never had the privilege of meeting Dr. Olsburgh in person, I was moved to discover how warmly he is still remembered at USC, and how much Prof. Sameshima continues to cherish his memory. 2027 Exchange
The Foundation will shortly select a postgraduate student, with the help of an independent expert, to participate in the 2027 exchange program.
